Every winter, the dreaded seasonal appendage dryness comes. Your hands start to get flaky and crack. You rethink your whole skincare regimen but you’re finally comfortable with your summer routine – you’re not sure where to start. Well NOT this year!
This year, you read this guide and you’re buying hand creams that aren’t sticky but keep your hands moisturized for hours. Because you’re better than past you and one of your New Year goals was to stay moisturized AF.
Here are hand creams to keep handy this year:
For your desk: L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream
This is on sale for $15 today (1/5/23) at Ulta!
This is what inspired me to write the post – this hand cream was on sale today and I had to share it!! I love the soft, hydrating finish that doesn’t feel super greasy. It also smells strongly of vanilla and the Shea Butter is a little more heavy duty for winter use! I don’t use this one in the summer but I always have it on my desk once December rolls around. I put it on once or twice a day and my hands feel super pampered. Plus the packaging is so cute!

For your bag: Gold Bond Ultimate Age Defense Hand Cream with Broad Spectrum SPF 20 Sunscreen
It’s never too early to start taking care of your hands! Gold Bond is an old school staple for a reason. I’ve tried other versions of Gold Bond hand creams, but this one is my favorite for winter due to its longevity and quick dry time. It feels silky upon application, smells very fresh, and dries in under 30 seconds to a nice smooth finish. The Ultimate Age Defense increases your skin’s firmness and also has SPF 20, so I keep a bottle in my bag for when I’m on the go and in the sun. I’ve used just one bottle for several months and one application lasts all day!

For anywhere: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Hand Cream
If you’re looking for an affordable gel-based hand cream that absorbs quickly, check out the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Hand Cream! From my experience, this one has the fastest absorption out of the other two hand creams I’ve listed. I like that there isn’t any leftover residue and I like that it has hyaluronic acid and when you apply it. There’s a slight cooling sensation on your skin! While I use this one more in the summer months, I always have a small bottle around during the winter too!

Which one should I get?
These all overlap with each other fairly well – they’re all great moisturizers and my holy grails. If you’re looking for moisture, check out the Gold Bond Ultimate Age Defense or L’Occitane Shea Butter. If you’re looking for SPF while driving / going outside, Gold Bond it is! And if you’re looking for a good all-arounder that is the least greasy, I’d use the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Hand Cream.
Let me know if you’ve used any of these and what you thought! Or if you have other hand creams to recommend to me. I’ll try to test them out!
